Description
GENHEALTH provides the respondent's general assessment of his or her own health.
In 2006-2008 and 2014-2016, general health was gathered during the Eating and Health Module of the ATUS interview. Analyses that include GENHEALTH should use EHWT as the weight.
In 2010, 2012, and 2013, these data were collected as part of the Well-being Module of the ATUS interview. Research using this variable without activity-level quality of life data should apply WBWT as the weight in analyses; research using this variable in conjunction with activity-level quality of life data should use AWBWT for analyses.
In 2011, general health was gathered as part of the Leave Module of the ATUS interview. Analyses that include GENHEALTH should use LVWT as the weight.
