Description

FAMBUS_PAY_CPS8 reports whether the respondent receives pay or profits from the family business or farm.

FAMBUS_CPS8 was drawn from the final CPS interview, conducted 2-5 months before the ATUS interview. Information on family business and farm ownership was also collected at the time of the ATUS interview. See FAMBUS.

Comparability

This variable is comparable across years from 2003 onward.

Universe

CPS household members who did unpaid work in the family business or farm in the last seven days AND household member other than DP or DP's spouse/unmarried partner is/are the business owner(s).
