Description
EARNRPT reports the easiest way for the respondent to report his/her income. The interviewer asked the respondent whether it was easier to report earnings hourly, weekly, annually, or some other way.
EARNRPT was collected at the time of the ATUS interview. However, earnings information was only collected at that time for respondents who changed jobs or employers since the final CPS interview, or whose earnings were allocated in the final CPS interview. For other respondents, earnings information was carried forward from the final CPS interview. CPSUPDATE may be useful as an indication that earnings information may be out of date.
Information on income reporting was also collected at the time of the final CPS interview, 2-5 months before the ATUS interview. See EARNRPT_CPS8.
