ECAGE is a 2 digit numeric variable reporting the eldercare recipient's age in years. This variable ranges from 0 to 85 except for 81-84 (see top codes).
85 years. Persons aged 80-84 are assigned a code of 80 and persons aged 85+ are assigned a code of 85.
Description
ECAGE reports the age of the eldercare recipient.
For household members, this is the age on the diary day; for non-household members it is the person's age on the first of the month for the month corresponding to 3 months before the interview.
