Description
FULLPART indicates whether the individual usually works full time or part time. Full time employment is considered to be 35 or more hours per week.
Other variables also capture working hours. UHRSWORKT reports the total number of hours the individual usually works per week.
FULLPART was collected at the time of the ATUS interview. However, information on hours worked was only collected at that time for respondents who changed jobs or employers since the final CPS interview, or whose earnings were allocated in the final CPS interview. For other respondents, information on hours worked was carried forward from the final CPS interview. CPSUPDATE may be useful as an indication that this information may be out of date.
Full time/part time status was also collected at the time of the final CPS interview, 2-5 months before the ATUS interview. See FULLPART_CPS8. Other hours variables collected during the final CPS interview include the total number of hours usually worked (see UHRSWORKT_CPS8) and the total number of hours actually worked last week (see HRSWORKT_CPS8).
