Before HRHHID2_CPS8 was created in April 2004, the information in this variable was located in three other variables: HRSAMPLE_CPS8, HRSERSUF_CPS8, and HUHHNUM_CPS8. IPUMS has now created HHRHID2_CPS8 for users as an alternative to using HRSAMPLE_CPS8, HRSERSUF_CPS8, and HUHHNUM_CPS8. HRHHID2_CPS8 and related technical variables are needed to link these data with the Current Population Survey data that is not yet offered through our system. This document provides detailed information on linking files.
