• South region: AL, AR, DC, DE, FL, GA, KY, LA, MD, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, VA, and WV

• West region: AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, MT, NM, NC, OR, UT, WA, and WY

REGION was added to the data by the Census Bureau, not collected from respondents.
