WBWT is a 15-digit numeric variable providing the person level weight for the Well-being module.
Description
WBWT provides weights suitable for estimates using only person-level variables from the Well-being Module. Person-level estimates using Well-being Module data should be generated using WBWT rather than the ATUS statistical weight (WT06). Combined use of person-level variables and activity-level module data should use AWBWT as the weight in analyses. There are fewer Well-being Module respondents than ATUS respondents due to minimal nonresponse.
All ATUS weights are probability weights. Users should take care to specify them properly in their statistical packages.
Comparability
Several different estimation weight variables, constructed using slightly different methodologies, exist for the ATUS. Estimation weights should be chosen based on which samples are included in analyses. WBWT is the appropriate weighting variable for users whose analyses include Well-being Module data. For most other applications, WT06 is the preferred weighting variable.
WBWT may be used together with the corresponding set of replicate weights (RWBWT).
