Description
WHYABSNT_CPS8 reports the reason for absence from work if the respondent was not at his/her job during the preceding week.
EMPSTAT_CPS8 reports the individual's employment status, including whether or not he/she is employed but absent from work. PAYIFABS_CPS8 reports whether or not the respondent was paid for his/her time off work.
WHYABSNT_CPS8 was drawn from the final CPS interview, conducted 2-5 months before the ATUS interview. Reason for absence from work was also collected at the time of the ATUS interview. See WHYABSNT.

- Employed CPS household members who were absent from work last week.
